Tamra Buntrock

Tamra Buntrock is vice president of philanthropy operations and finance at CommonSpirit Health, the nation’s largest nonprofit health care system. With nearly 25 years in nonprofit leadership experience, Tamra is responsible for the overall operational and financial management of CommonSpirit Health’s affiliated system spanning 21+ states and 80+ foundations.

Tamra joined Dignity Health, which became CommonSpirit Health after an alignment with Catholic Health Initiatives, in 1995 and has proven skills in multi-foundation operational and financial leadership. She leads system-wide initiatives, develops policies, procedures, and processes, provides leadership in best practice sharing, and contributes to the development and oversight of CommonSpirit Health’s strategic goals.

Tamra is a faculty member at the Madison Institute, past Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) International Conference chair, as well as a member of the AHP Standards Council and the Health Systems Philanthropy Leadership Group.

Previously, Tamra was an auditor and tax consultant for Deloitte, an international public accounting firm, where she developed industry specializations in nonprofit organizations, real estate, banking, and employee benefit plans.

As a native of South Dakota, she is a graduate of the University of South Dakota (USD) and holds bachelor of science degrees in business administration and accounting from USD’s Beacom School of Business where she graduated with highest honors.
