Emily Merowitz Tedeschi is the system director of prospect management/research for CommonSpirit Health’s philanthropy team. Emily joined the ministry in 2021 after 18 years at Hackensack Meridian Health, where she served as director of prospect development and research. In addition to working in health care philanthropy for more than 25 years, Emily also served as assistant director of prospect research at Boston University and research manager at WGBH, the nation's largest public broadcast station. A member of both the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement and the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, Emily has experience in implementing prospect management programs, collaborating with fundraisers as a strategic partner and building teams.
Since she was a child, Emily has loved literature and writing; her very first job was shelving books in her town library. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Wesleyan University and received her master's degree in English from Brown University. In addition to her work in fundraising, she taught English at Brookdale Community College. Emily has also worked as an editor and writer. She and her husband, David, live near the Jersey Shore with their son, Nicholas. She is happy to recommend a book to anyone at any time.
