Dawn Koenning is the Vice President of Philanthropy of St. Luke’s Foundation and St. Joseph Health Foundation in Texas.
Dawn brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in philanthropy and nonprofit management. Throughout her career, she has built high-performing teams, developed transformational philanthropic partnerships, and led complex fundraising initiatives that advanced the missions of both healthcare and faith-based organizations.
A native Texan and graduate of Texas A&M University, Dawn most recently served as Senior Vice President for Advancement and External Relations at the University of St. Thomas, where she provided executive leadership for philanthropy, alumni engagement, and external relations.
During her tenure, she helped secure transformational gifts, led successful capital initiatives, strengthened donor engagement, and partnered closely with institutional leadership and the Board of Directors to advance strategic priorities.
Earlier in her career, Dawn served in development roles with organizations including Texas Children's Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, and MD Anderson Cancer Center. She brings a deep understanding of healthcare philanthropy and the vital role it plays in advancing patient care, research, education, and community health.
