Montisa Phelan Lopez, CFRE, has worked for Dignity Health since 2004 and has been the Vice President of Philanthropy for the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation since 2006. As the leader of the foundation, Montisa provides oversight for the hospital’s philanthropic initiatives including annual giving, large-scale events, major gift donor cultivation and capital campaigns. She leads in strategizing, analyzing results and setting the overall direction of the foundation. Under her leadership, the foundation has raised over $13 million to support the hospital and the health care needs of the community. Montisa led the foundation to complete a $6.5 million capital campaign to make significant updates to the hospital, and is currently amid a $1.5 million campaign to modernize the hospital’s surgical services.
Montisa is a sixth-generation resident of the Central Coast, and resides in her hometown of Arroyo Grande. She and her husband have three children and two grandchildren. Montisa is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, and a member of the San Luis Obispo chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
