Raya Galang

Executive Coordinator

Raya Galang is the executive coordinator for CommonSpirit Health’s philanthropy team, supporting Fred Najjar, executive vice president and chief philanthropy officer of CommonSpirit Health and president of CommonSpirit Health Foundation.

Raya has served the ministry since 2011 and has over seventeen years’ experience providing executive level support with demonstrated history working in hospitality, startup, health care and non-profit organizations. Her combined experiences have honed customer service, problem-solving, collaboration, leadership, and intuitive decision-making skills while developing effective relationships.

Service to others is a value that is deeply ingrained in her. Being born and raised in the Philippines, where poverty and inequality are a daily reality and challenge, Raya developed empathy towards those who are on the peripheries of society. Her deep understanding for the long lasting impact of genuine service has given profound meaning and fulfillment to the career path she has chosen.

Raya received her bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant administration from the University of the Philippines. She was awarded the Rising Star Award by the Hotel Council of San Francisco in 2006 at its annual Hotel Heroes Gala.
