Melanie Foster

System Director of Philanthropy National Initiatives

Melanie Foster, M.S., CFRE, serves as the Director of Philanthropy for CommonSpirit Health Foundation. Melanie is responsible for leading fundraising efforts for several of the foundation's signature initiatives.

Melanie has eight years of experience in nonprofit development and has a proven track record of success in closing major gifts, cultivating relationships, securing funding and strategizing growth to drive social change. Melanie holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership from University College, University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University. She is also a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).

In her previous role as Associate Director at Jewish National Fund-USA, Melanie advanced the Women's Campaign that raises over $2 million dollars annually. She also managed 275 donor relationships (annual giving $1 million+), a 400-person annual event, and small cultivation events, and closed five and six-figure major gifts, corporate sponsorships and planned gifts.

Melanie is a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for making a difference in the community. She is also an excellent communicator and team player.
