Kathy Krebs-Dean is the system director of national grant development for CommonSpirit Health’s philanthropy team. Her work for the ministry builds on over 25 years of successful grant writing and program development experience for nonprofit and government organizations in the areas of health care, behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, homeless services, youth development, affordable housing, community revitalization, and more. For CommonSpirit Kathy leads the efforts to secure millions in funding to advance health equity and reduce access disparities for young people of color, trafficking survivors, patients with chronic diseases, individuals impacted by addiction, and others. She thrives on strengthening organizational capacity by leveraging funding, resources, and partnerships to advance patient and community health.

Kathy received her master’s degree in anthropology from California State University, East Bay, with a concentration in cultural anthropology and a geographic focus on Southeast Asia. She’s a member of the Grant Professionals Association. She enjoys volunteering with the Tsoknyi Humanitarian Foundation to expand K-8 educational opportunities for Himalayan girls from poverty stricken areas of Nepal.
