CommonSpirit Health Foundation celebrates a decade of impact at tenth annual Humankindness Gala
SAN FRANCISCO (May 22, 2025) – CommonSpirit Health Foundation hosted 350 guests at the tenth annual Humankindness Gala on May 22, 2025, at San Francisco City Hall. The gala celebrated a decade of impact with its theme of “Hope & Health Across the Nation,” while raising $2 million to bolster health equity initiatives that address challenges facing communities served by the largest nonprofit health system in the United States.
"When people come together in service of others, like they did at this year’s gala — that is what humankindness is all about," says Nancy Bussani, Executive Vice President, Chief Philanthropy Officer and President of CommonSpirit Health Foundation. “We are so grateful to our board, our leadership, our event sponsors and our many donors who made this night memorable, and who, more importantly, make this impactful work possible.
The Humankindness Gala is an annual event hosted by CommonSpirit Health Foundation, uniting supporters and leaders in health care from across the nation. Guests were welcomed by members of CommonSpirit Health Foundation Board of Directors, as well as by opening remarks from Wright Lasitter III, CommonSpirit Health CEO, and Doug Anning from the event’s title sponsor, Polsinelli, during the cocktail reception.
Guests also enjoyed a 5-star menu paired with wine from Componere Fine Catering as they heard stories of the impact made possible thanks to philanthropic gifts to CommonSpirit Health Foundation. They were then treated to a custom song performed by Renee Lubin from Beach Blanket Babylon that recognized all the event sponsors.
