CommonSpirit Health Foundation Spotlight

CommonSpirit Health Foundation Launches Salon Series

San Francisco (July 30, 2020) - CommonSpirit Health Foundation hosted its first virtual salon for donors and friends in late July. The purpose of these salons is to create an interactive experience in community with those who work alongside us in our mission to address health equity and nurture justice and dignity, convening experts to share information and ideas that will further those conversations.

The inaugural event featured Dr. Thomas McGinn and Dr. Michael Osterholm discussing learnings from the pandemic that will inform our future.

Dr. Osterholm is a leading expert on infectious disease who was appointed in November 2020 to President-elect Joe Biden’s 13-member Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board. He serves as the McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair in Public Health, the managing director for the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, and is a New York Times best-selling author.

Dr. McGinn serves as the Executive Vice President, Physician Enterprise for CommonSpirit and is responsible for the executive leadership and strategic direction of the Physician Enterprise’s clinical and business operations across 21 states. He is nationally recognized for his research and he is widely published with a long track record of federal research funding.

Throughout the conversation our experts shared current information about the pandemic and their thoughts on what the future may hold. We are so grateful to be able to invite these very special guests to share this important information with our donors. We are looking forward to future educational sessions in this series beginning in 2022 that will help share the many reasons why we work toward health justice and equity every day with each of you.
