Employee giving is an opportunity to further engage with our ministry by making a donation to one of CommonSpirit Health’s 80+ fundraising entities in support of a program or service that you are passionate about. National office employees are encouraged to consider supporting one of the CommonSpirit Health Foundation’s priority initiatives:
- Healthier Communities. Everyone has the right to be healthy, regardless of their zip code. Together, we are working to address all the obstacles to good health — not just those that are specifically about health care. Only by tackling the social determinants of health can we improve health outcomes in every community across the nation.
- Maternal Health. The U.S. is facing a maternal health crisis. Women and birthing people are dying at a rate several times higher than other high-resource, industrialized countries. Families carry this heavy, unnecessary burden. As many as two-thirds of pregnancy-related deaths are preventable. The foundation promotes women’s health and infant health before, during and after pregnancy as well as reducing disease and death among mothers and babies, with special attention to reducing population-specific disparities in these health outcomes.
- Mental and Behavioural Health. Mental and behavioral health conditions affect one in five adults in the United States every year. Yet more than 115 million Americans live in an area with no access to a behavioral health professional. Lack of access to behavioral health services can have far-reaching consequences. Early intervention is critical. CommonSpirit Health is developing a more holistic model of care that integrates behavioral health within the full continuum of care.
- Violence Prevention and Human Trafficking Response. From violence prevention programming and human trafficking response training to trauma-informed assistance tools for health care providers, CommonSpirit Health and our partners are united against violence.
- Climate Action. The health of the planet is intimately linked to the health and well-being of people. While treating the effects of climate change on our communities, we must also make health care a healing force for our planet. CommonSpirit Health has made an industry-leading commitment to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 — and will cut operational greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030.
Thank you for standing with your CommonSpirit Health colleagues and supporting our mission to create a healthier future for all—inspired by faith, driven by innovation, and powered by our humanity.
