Funding Priorities

Health Justice Starts with Humankindness. Everyone has the right to be healthy. Millions of people are unhealthy or die due to factors beyond their control. Health—particularly in vulnerable communities—is connected to poverty, discrimination, homelessness, the lack of access to quality education and jobs, and unsafe environments. CommonSpirit Health is leveraging the power of humankindness to treat the social causes of poor health and advance health justice for all.

The nation needs a more just health care system—which requires a sustained commitment to improving health for all. Ongoing social, political and public health crises have both revealed and deepened persistent inequities and disparities. Advancing health justice requires tackling the systems and barriers that cause inequities in the first place.

CommonSpirit Health is helping communities achieve health justice by addressing the root causes of inequities and eliminating structural and systemic barriers to health.
